Melanie McMullen

Melanie McMullen is a Queen City native representing a generational presence in the Springfield community. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Socio-Political Communication and remains a proud Bear to this day. Despite her roots in Southwest Missouri, Melanie temporarily relocated to Mid-Mo to complete her Juris Doctor at the University of Missouri Columbia School of Law (MIZ-ZOU!) before returning home to Springfield.

During law school, Melanie had the privilege of serving on the Missouri Law Review for two years where she was awarded the Best Production Award for her contributions as an Associate Member and was later elected to the Editorial Board as the Managing Editor. She was recognized as one of the Top Six Oral Advocates in her 1L Moot Court Competition and went on to join the National Moot Court team. In what spare time a law student has, Melanie fulfilled her passion for helping others by volunteering at the Missouri State Public Defender’s office in Columbia and working with first year and incoming law students as a School of Law Ambassador.

Although her parents might disagree, Melanie has always been an avid rule follower and a voice for what is right. She was raised in a city surrounded by local business owners, growing entrepreneurs, and diverse families facing various struggles in their personal and professional lives. Melanie’s passion for Springfield was one of the driving factors in pushing her towards a legal career so she could be the voice to support and nurture the individuals, families, and their businesses that make our community so great.

Prior to joining the firm upon graduation in 2021, Melanie spent three months in South Africa where she continued her legal studies and worked as a legal intern supporting families at the University of the Western Cape, and later worked as a summer associate for Neale & Newman.
