Judson B. Poppen received his law degree, with distinction, from the University of Iowa School of Law in 2001. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1998 with a degree in Business Administration. Before joining Neale & Newman, L.L.P., Mr. Poppen practiced law for three years in the litigation section of Shook, Hardy & Bacon, L.L.P. in Kansas City, Missouri.

While in law school, Mr. Poppen was the Director of the Trial Advocacy Board, Student Judge for the Moot Court Board, and Member of the Journal of Corporation Law. He was also a finalist in the Stephenson Trial Competition, which earned him a spot representing the University of Iowa at the Regional Trial Advocacy Competition. His credentials earned him the Iowa Law School Foundation Scholarship. While in school, Mr. Poppen clerked for Lewis, Rice & Fingersh in Kansas City, Missouri and Klinger, Robinson & Ford in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Mr. Poppen is licensed to practice in all Missouri state courts, Kansas state courts, and the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. He authored sections and assisted in the editing of the ABA publication entitled Ex Parte Contacts with Former Employees. He has also written articles for the Missouri Environmental Insider and authored many presentations for CLE seminars for organizations such as Lorman, DRI and the Air and Waste Management Association. Mr. Poppen has a broad general practice, including commercial litigation, environmental law, personal injury, litigation defense, and workers' compensation.
