J. Richard Owensby received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in 1964. He then attended the University of Missouri, where he earned his Master of Arts degree in Accounting in 1965 and his law degree in 1968. He joined the firm upon graduation from law school.

Mr. Owensby is active in local Bar Association activities. He is an experienced speaker, having presented numerous seminars on estate planning and probate topics to civic, religious and social groups, as well as to other attorneys in Southwest Missouri in connection with the Missouri Bar Association's mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirements.

Mr. Owensby's primary areas of practice are estate planning and probate administration, as well as an emphasis in real estate, commercial and corporate law. In addition to his individual estate planning and estate administration clients, He represents a wide range of commercial clients, including large and small corporations, financial institutions, and local franchise operations.
